Robert Siemering
Robert Edwin Siemering of Maxwell, Texas, passed away on Jan. 23, 2014, at the age of 90. He was born on June 30, 1923 in Maxwell, Texas, to John August and Henrietta (Wink) Siemering.
Robert Siemering served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps; he was deployed in WWII in the South Pacific and was a member of the VFW, DAV, and the American Legion. He love
d farming, the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed playing dominos, spades, fast cars and watching football. He deeply loved his family and was immensely proud of them all. He will be missed by all of them.
He was preceded in death by his father, John August Siemering; his mother, Henrietta Siemering, and his sister, Doris Colgin. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lillian Henke Siemering; three sons, John Richard Siemering, of Dripping Springs, Robert Yancey Siemering, of North Richland Hills and Michael Travis Siemering and wife, Joy, of Maxwell; two daughters, Linda Marie Siemering Miller and husband, Billy, of Maxwell; and Johanna Hopkins, of Kyle; two brothers, Johnny Siemering, of Lockhart, and Jimmy Siemering, of Uhland; one sister, Helen Schmidt, of Creedmoor; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at McCurdy Funeral Home from 5 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Maxwell, with Pastor Craig Sagebiel officiating. Interment to follow. Reception and barbecue to follow at Maxwell Social Club, Maxwell. Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Miller, John Siemering, Bobby Siemering, Michael Siemering, Justin Siemering, Julie Ann Siemering, Jackson Siemering, Price Siemering, Karson Siemering and Robert Edwin Siemering Miller II. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Schmidt, Bobby Schmidt, Joe Niemann, Kenneth Niemann and Johnny King.
In lieu of flowers, family request memorial contributions to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
