William Steubing
William L. “Bill” Steubing was born in Nixon, Texas, to William Jacob and Joyce Kilmer Steubing on Oct. 27, 1938. He was married to his wife, Doris, on June 18, 1961. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and is survived by his wife and four children: Sharon Wetz and husband, Gary, of League City, William Steubing and wife, Judith, of Helotes, Duane Steubing and wif
e, Susie, of College Station, and Christopher Steubing and wife, Darla, of Richmond. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren.
He was in the banking profession for over 22 years in San Antonio, where he worked a considerable amount with the farmers and youth in the surrounding area. After banking he took on endeavors including owning and operating a business, financial operations for a construction company and ranching.
He firmly believed that a handshake meant everything and that a man was to provide for his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and all. If you wish to send an honorarium, please send it to the Ebenezer Lutheran Church of Maxwell, Texas in support of the education building fund.
Family received friends at McCurdy Funeral Home from 4 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Maxwell. Burial followed at Ebenezer Cemetery.
