Allen Eugene Patton

Allen Eugene Patton, age 82, of Luling died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005 in Luling.
Mr. Patton was born Aug. 16, 1923 in Tilmon, Texas to James 0. Patton and Delores Ballew Patton. He was united in marriage to Edna McMullen Patton on May 26, 1943 in Lockhart.
He worked for many years in the oilfield industry in various parts of Texas. In his most recent years, he enjo

yed working with his cattle and gardening. He also enjoyed attending his great-grandsons” sporting events.
Mr. Patton is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edna McMullen Patton of Luling; son, Roy Douglas Patton of Dallas; daughter, Betty Patton Motal and husband Gus Motal of Lockhart; grandson, Kenneth D. Zumwalt and wife Jennifer Otto Zumwalt of Luling; great-grandsons, Jarred Allen and Wesley Clay Zumwalt of Luling; sister, Anna Belle Collins of Conroe, Texas; sisters-in-law, Mary Patton of Lockhart, Vivian Patton and Dorothy Patton, both of Kilgore, Texas; and cousins, Tommie Nell Ballew of Luling, and Floricne Hendershot of Dallas.
Mr. Patton was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James 0. Patton; brothers, Carl Patton, Marshall Patton, Thomas “Pete” Patton, Jack Patton and Billy Joe Patton; and sisters, Katharen Riddle, Oma Newsom, and Eva Tullous.
Funeral Services were held at O”Bannon Funeral Home in Luling on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 with Leonard Shanklin officiating. Interment followed in the Lockhart City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Carl Patton, Larry Patton, James Tullous, Ronnie Patton, Joe Newsom, Paul Higginbotham, Tom Montgomery and Duane Otto.
