Alvina Seelinger Bragg, 91, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2006 in Luling Seton Hospital.
She was born to Adolf and Martha (Schuenemann) Seelinger on March 18, 1914 in Lockhart, Texas and remained a resident until her death.
Alvina married Fane Bragg of San Marcos on June 27, 1936 in Lockhart. They owned Bragg”s Phillips 68 Station until their retirement.

She was a loving wife, caring mother and a “Lady” in all that she did in manners and dress. Alvina loved to be around family and friends and always had a big smile for everyone. She was a life long member of St. Paul”s United Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her gentle spirit and kind words, especially those at the Diary Queen Senior Coffee Club.
Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Hilmer Seelinger.
She is survived by her daughter, Doris Champion and husband, Z.L. (Zeke); granddaughter, Carin Champion-Mullens; sister, Lena Jackson and husband, Garson R.; nieces, Marsha Carlson and Phyllis Conrad and husband, Richard all of Austin, Texas and several great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to acknowledge the caring staff of Lockhart Golden Age Home where Alvina has resided for nine years.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at McCurdy Memorial Chapel with interment following in the Lockhart City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Age Home Personal Care, 1505 s. Main St., Lockhart, Texas 78644, St. Paul”s United Church, 762 S. Main St., Lockhart, Texas 78644 or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15186, Austin, Texas 78755.
