April 21, 1971 – April 10, 2025

Amelia Moncada Morales, a radiant soul whose laughter and love lit up every room, passed into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Seton Medical Hospital in Kyle, Texas. At 53, Amelia was surrounded by her cherished family, a testament to the unbreakable bonds she nurtured throughout her life.
Born on April 21, 1971, in the vibrant city of San Antonio, Texas, Amelia was the beloved daughter of Raymond Moncada, Sr., and Rosa Ruiz. Raised in a home filled with warmth, she grew into a lady whose heart overflowed with generosity and joy. Amelia’s life was beautifully woven with moments spent alongside her devoted husband, Sergio Morales, and their furry companions, Oreo and Minnie, who brought her endless delight. Whether she was firing up the grill for a family cookout or twirling across the dance floor, Amelia’s spirit was a celebration of togetherness and love.
Amelia’s legacy is carried forward by those she held dear: her loving husband, Sergio Morales; her mother, Rosa R. Rangel, and stepfather, Hilario Zapata; her sister, Rosa Torres, and brother-in-law, Leroy Sauceda; her step-sister, Patricia Viera; her brothers, Jerry Moncada, Johnny Rangel, and Jimmy Rangel, along with sister-in-law Maribel Rangel; her nephew, Aurelio Torres; her niece, Maria Torres, and her husband, Jesse Valles, and their children, Dimitri Perez, Jr., Lyla Perez, and Angelina Valles; her brother-in-law, Esimo Morales, and his wife, Rachel; and a wide circle of extended family who will forever treasure her memory.
She was welcomed into eternity by her father, Raymond Moncada, Sr., her grandmother, Asuncion Ruiz, and her stepfather, Santiago Rangel, who surely greeted her with open arms.Amelia will be remembered as a beacon of love—a woman who gave freely, laughed heartily, and never missed a chance to be silly just to spark a smile. Her family cookouts were legendary, her dancing infectious, and her kindness a gift that lifted everyone around her. To know Amelia was to know joy, and her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.
A visitation to celebrate Amelia’s life will be held from noon to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at DeLeon Funeral Home. A recitation of the rosary, led by Deacon Scott Dillon, will take place at 2:00 p.m., offering a moment to honor her faith and legacy.
In lieu of sorrow, let us dance in her memory, laugh as she did, and hold our loved ones close—just as Amelia always did. Her love lives on, eternal and bright.
