Bonnie Hinkle Scott
Bonnie Hinkle (Mrs. Leonard W.) Scott of Lockhart and San Marcos died Nov. 21, 2007, at the age of 92.
Bonnie was born on Sept. 9, 1915 in Stone County, Ark., to Dr. Jefferson Breckinridge Hinkle and Ora Elliott Hinkle. She graduated from Pawnee High School.
On Jan. 21, 1937 she married Leonard Scott.
Bonnie excelled in bridge and ultimately became a Grand
Life Master. She taught others to play bridge and formed two duplicate bridge clubs, which met at her home for over 40 years. Bonnie was an avid reader, and traveled the United States and Europe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, former Caldwell County Judge Leonard Walter Scott; her parents; sister, Robbie Hinkle Finnie; brothers Stanley, Baltis, Bernard B., and Jackson J. Hinkle.
She is survived by her brother, Claude F. Hinkle of Lockhart; sons and their wives, Leonard Wayne and Maxine Scott of Fair Oaks Ranch, Mike and Pam Scott of Grapevine, and Ricke and Letrice Scott of Lockhart; her grandchildren: Kelly Scott Garcia, Leonard Scott, Dr. Brad Scott, Michael Scott, James Scott, Amanda Scott Butts, Travis Scott, Ryan Scott and Shelby Scott; as well as a number of great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, with public graveside services at the Lockhart City Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24.
The family wishes to thank the kind caregivers of Hays Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in San Marcos for their tender care of Bonnie. Special thanks go to Rosie, Rachel, Norma, Bernie and Blanca, as well as the private caregivers who cared for at her home until she entered the nursing home.
