Carmen Natal DeLeon, our beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother of Martindale went peacefully to her eternal rest to be with our Heavenly Father on May 30, 2005 at the age of 83 years. Being very active in her church, Carmen belonged to the Society of the Guadalupanas of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She is pr

eceded in death by: her parents, Guadalupe and Anita Natal; sisters, Guadalupe Roblero and Teresa Saenz; brothers Charles Natal, Jesse Natal, Pete Natal and Antonio Natal; and grandson Jesse DeLeon.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 ears, Ascencion DeLeon, Sr., of Martindale; sons, Jose DeLeon of Redwood, Texas, Manuel DeLeon and David DeLeon, Sr., both of Maxwell, Ascension DeLeon, Jr., Cristobal DeLeon, Sr., Antonio DeLeon, Sr. and Secodino “Dino” DeLeon, all of Martindale, and Dr. John E. DeLeon of San Marcos; daughters, Benita Rodriguez and Anita M. DeLeon of Martindale, Angela Alvarez and Rosemary DeLeon of Lockhart and Maria Dismuke of Redwood; sisters, Frances Natal of San Marcos, Anita Torres, Eva O”Donnell, Maria Luisa Rivas, Ignacia Sancez and Celia Lopez, all of San Antonio; and special friend Denise Clack of Seguin.
She is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Recitiation of the rosary was Wednesday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial was Thursday, June 2 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Martindale with Rev. John Kelly officiating. Interment followed in the Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale.
Serving as pallbearers were Jesse DeLeon, Frank Rodriguez, III, Juan Alvarez, Ramon DeLeon, Manuel DeLeon, Jr., and Tony DeLeon.
Honorary pallbearers were Ricky DeLeon, David DeLeon, Jr., Michael DeLeon, Elias DeLeon, Joshua DeLeon and Jaime DeLeon.
