Charles H. Conyers
Chuck Conyers, 74, left to be with his Heavenly Father while surrounded by his family and friends on June 12, 2012, at Christopher House in Austin. The family wants to stress the importance of Melanoma Cancer.
He was born June 1, 1938, in Coward, S.C., to Alma B. Miles and Charles H. Conyers, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
He is
survived by: his wife, Shirley Conyers; one brother, Robert and his wife, Doris; one son, Tony Conyers, four daughters: Brenda Grantham, Linda Barr, Linda Gomez and Kathy Conyers, and his grandchildren: Michael, Emily, Kyle, Joey, Katelyn, Trey and Chelsey.
Chuck served in the Marines and then in the Army. He worked at Southern Investments for over 30 years; he retired and then went to work for A-I Imports.
We would like to give special thanks to all his family, friends and his music friends for all the music, love and support.
A visitation was held June 14, 2012, at McCurdy Funeral Home, then grave site services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday June 15, at Jeffery Cemetery by Roy Farley. Many music friends played and sang songs in honor of the family.
Donations would be appreciated to the Hospice Christopher House in Austin or the American Cancer Society.
