In a continued effort to address pay scale for County employees, the Caldwell County Commissioners reviewed plans on Monday morning to add nearly $500,000 to the Caldwell County, in the second tier of a five-year salary scale implementation.

The raises amount to 20 percent of the difference between the empl

oyees’ pay during the 2012 fiscal year, and the salaries proposed in a salary survey completed by the Human Resources Department last year. Under the proposal, all county employees, except those still in a “probationary period” are expected to receive pay increases during the next fiscal year.

In addition, the Commissioners considered setting the salaries for all county elected officials, most of whom are set to receive pay increases of around $2,100. Those salaries, also, are being adjusted in accordance with last year’s salary survey.

For details about the proposed pay increases, pick up this week’s Post-Register, on newsstands Wednesday evening.
