Debra Smith Stephens

Debra Smith Stephens, 49, of Gonzales, formerly of Lockhart, passed away October 17, 2004 in Gonzales, Texas. She was born on December 7, 1954 in Lockhart to Roy H. Smith, Jr. and Mary Rusk Smith.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lockhart. A graduate of Lockhart High School, class of 1973.

She is preceded in

death by her father, Roy H. Smith, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, W. C. Stephens of McDade; mother, Mary Rusk Smith of Lockhart; son, Charles Alan “Bubba” Stephens and grandson, Dalton Alan Stephens of McDade; step-son, James Stephens and step-grandson, Charles Thomas Stephens; brother, John Lee Smith and wife Beth of Willis; sister, Barbie Smith Stroud of Austin; niece, Lindsey Kay Stroud; special friend and companion, John Rhoades of Gonzales.

Visitation was held on Tuesday at McCurdy Funeral Home. Services were held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at McCurdy Memorial Chapel. Internment followed at the Lockhart City Cemetery, Rev. Robert F. Hahn, officiating.

Pallbearers were Dan Rheinlander, Terry Rheinlander, George Williams, Tommy Taylor, David Reed, and Duke Mueller.
