Robert “Ike” Nitz Sr.

Roger “Ike” Nitz, Sr., of Lockhart passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at the age of 61. He was born in Ledyard, Iowa, October 17, 1943 to Frank and Mildred Nitz. He has resided in Texas for 20 years. He served three years in the United States Army. He was self employed by co-owning a cement plant in So. Sioux City, Nebraska and a win

dow business in Austin. After retiring in 1990, he then did woodworking. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight of Father Tracy Council in So. Sioux City and also at St. Elizabeth’s Council of Pflugerville. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter and a wonderful chef.

His parents precede him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon Nitz; daughters, Charlotte Stuart and husband Mike, Renee Garcia; sons, Roger Nitz and Michael Nitz; brother, Frank Nitz and sister, Linda Larson; and 5 grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 7, 2004, in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, Pflugerville, TX. Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 8, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 1520 N. Railroad Ave, Pflugerville, TX, with Father Tom Frank as Celebrant.
