Earl Houchin

Earl Houchin, 77, of Lockhart, passed away on May 24, 2015. He was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, on Oct. 29, 1937. He was married to Irene Houchin for 31 years and 11 months.
Earl is survived by his devoted, loving wife, Irene; his beloved step-daughters, Susan Elzner and husband, Leonard, and Jane Ritter and husband, Nathan, who loved and accepted him as a member of our family

for 34 years; sister, Mary Lou Rogers; Stephan Houchin; and Liesl Evans; along with nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his biological parents, and was adopted at a young age by Frank and Luella Houchin.
Earl was a member of the First United Methodist Church, of Lockhart. He was a loyal member and past Master at two lodges, the Lockhart Masonic Lodge 690 and Lytton Springs Masonic Lodge 487.
A memorial service honoring Earl will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lockhart.
