Edna Pierce

Mrs. Edna Pierce, 96, of San Marcos, passed away peacefully at the San Marcos Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Aug. 17, 2007. She was born in Maxwell, Texas to Henry Fritz and Meta Louisa Bartling on Jan. 20, 1911.
She lived in this area all her life and worked in retail as a sales clerk before her retirement.
She is survived by one nephew, Carl Bartling of S

an Marcos; two nieces, Shirley Mullins of San Marcos and Terri McPhetters of Manchaca; and one cousin, Larry Bartling of Harker Heights.
Edna was preceded in death by two husbands Gus Schaefer and Earl Pierce; and two brothers, Louis Bartling and Herman Bartling.
A visitation was held at the Eeds Funeral Home Chapel from 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007. Funeral Services were held at Monday, 10 a.m. on Aug. 20, 2007 at the Eeds Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Gary Rodgers officiating. Serving as the pallbearers were: Benny Hilburn, Lowe Galle, Terry Black, Wayne Flores, Paul Hardwick and Mike Tate. Burial followed immediately at the Lockhart City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Edna”s name be made to the First Lockhart Baptist Church.
