Elton Jennings 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the Golden Age Home in Lockhart.
Elton was born on Jan. 30, 1930 in McMahan, Texas to Robert and Ella Mae Huff Jennings. He was a retired truck driver and had lived all his life in Caldwell County. He was a member of St. Mark”s United Methodist Church of Lockhart. He served his country in the armed

services during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his five children: Alfred R. Shuler and his wife Yvonne of San Antonio, Ella B. Jennings of Corpus Christi, Anthony Jennings of Robstown, Linda S. Coleman of Houston, and Stanley J. Coleman and his wife Pamela of Boston, Mass.; sister Lois Richardson of Lockhart; five grandchildren, and one special friend, Bobbie Owens.
A visitation was held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10 at the Eeds Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 11 at the St. Mark”s United Methodist Church with the Rev. Foster Roberts officiating. Interment followed immediately at the Hardshell Cemetery in Caldwell County. Serving as the pallbearers were: Lex Jennings Sr., Henry Jennings, Lex Jennings Jr., Joe Jennings, Chris Jennings and Kenneth Smith. Honorary pallbearers in attendance were Shelby Coleman and Ennis Moore.
