Emogene Corbell Fischer was born Dec. 17, 1927, on a farm in Dale, Texas. She was one of three daughters born to Milburn and Sylvia (Taylor) Corbell. Emogene attended school in Dale. Upon graduation, she worked in Austin. The outdoors, and specifically the cattle business, were her passions. She followed in her father’s footsteps as a farmer and rancher.

On Dec. 31, 1947,

Emogene was a talented painter, which eventually led her into her own business – Emogene’s Ceramics. Later, when Arnold retired, they added woodworking and traveled to art shows all over Texas. This gave Emogene a canvas for her beautiful landscape and bluebonnet pictures.

Emogene was a lifelong member of McMahan Baptist Church and was active in teaching Sunday School and helping with Vacation Bible School. Emogene’s Bible was a testament to her faith. Emogene found true joy in her granddaughters. After raising three boys, she finally got to “Girly Shop.”

A true lady I have wonderful childhood memories of. She was one of my teachers in Sunday school and the mother of one of my best friends (Charles)when I was growing up. Prayers and condolences to the family from the Franks family.
