Evelyn Mary Koehler Frizell
Evelyn Frizell, 86, 4 weeks, 3 days, died in the Chisholm Trail Nursing Home in Lockhart on Dec. 8 at 4:30 p.m.
Her death was a result of years of hard work and maladies beginning in 1973 with lymphoma, which was successfully treated with chemotherapy. The chemotherapy ultimately weakened her strong constitution and opened the door to a heart condition, weakened bones
, and many other illnesses she fought valiantly. On Dec. 8 at 4:30 p.m., the Angel of Death came to call home another weary soul.
Evelyn is survived by her sons: Thomas Glenn Frizell and wife, Janet of Bastrop, Kenneth Neal Frizell and wife, Gale, of Jaffrey, N.H., Donald Wayne Frizell and wife, Gayle, of Pflugerville, and John Todd Frizell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and by her daughter, Gloria Fay Brown and husband, Nathan, of Lockhart.
Grandchildren include: Jill Guenther and husband, Greg, Vanessa Boenig and husband, Brad, Buddy Nickel, Jennifer Riechers and husband, Robin, Nicki Bell and husband, Jeff, Lucas Halley, Justin Halley, Joshua Halley, Seth Halley, Brandi Brown, Ashley Frizell, Sarah Halley, Zachary Brown and Heather Frizell. Great grandchildren include: Anthony, Katelynn, Lauren, Zachary, Hannah, Jacob, Maci, Austin, Connor, Georgia and Jordan.
Her mother, Emilie Koehler (nee Bodemann) and father, Fred H. Koehler, preceded her in death. Also preceding her were her siblings: Wilton Koehler, Linroy Koehler and Doris Horner. Evelyn’s infant son was stillborn on July 19, 1951, and her granddaughter, Lesa Dawn Halley was stillborn June 14, 1985. She lost her daughter-in-law, Deana Frizell, on Nov. 13, 2006.
There was a cremation. Visitation was held on Friday Dec. 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Eeds Funeral Home. Her family and surviving friends grieve at her death. She will be remembered by all as a strong, loving and selfless mother and grandmother. May she rest in peace.
