Lockhart Western Swing & BBQ Festival – Saturday & Sunday

This is an annual festival celebrating Western Swing Music, BBQ, and Texas Culture. September 27 - 29. Plus 32nd Annual Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame Show. Saturday and Sunday include free performances throughout the day. Lockhart Western Swing and BBQ Festival – Sunday

Sunday, September 29th Sunday’s activities start at 11 am and end at 3:30 pm at stages located at Smitty’s Market, Blacks BBQ, the PEARL, and Kreuz Market. All of Sunday's events are free to the public.  Be sure to check out the schedule. National Night Out in Lockhart

From 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. on October 1st, neighbors throughout the City of Lockhart are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement. Along with the traditional outside lights and front porch vigils, most cities celebrate National Night Out by hosting block parties, cookouts, and various community events with safety demonstrations, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, and exhibits. The Heart of Texas Bike Ride

The Heart of Texas Bike Ride will be held Saturday Oct. 5 beginning in downtown Lockhart, 110 S. Main St. The ride will feature several route options to accomodate all skill levels, including 32 miles, 100 kilometers, 100 miles, 5-mile family fun rides and tiny tots around the block rides. Fermented Vegetables Workshop with Abby Wetzel

The workshop includes a short talk about the basics of fermentation, followed by a live demonstration of how to make sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickles. The workshop will end with everyone making sauerkraut together to take home and a Q&A session. There will also be samples! The cost is 25.00 dollars.
