Golden Age Home Assisted Living will host its 5th Annual Caldwell County Health Fair & Caregiver symposium on September 11 from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Health Fair will feature vendors with information about Hospice, Home Health, Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Alzheimer’s Disease, Estate Planning and more. This year's symposium will feature guest speaker, Dr. Shannon-Johnson-Quaife, who will speak on Coping with Alzheimer’s. The presentation will have Benefit Counselors from the Area Agency of Aging providing information on the new changes to Medicare n the upcoming year. They will be available to answer questions regarding traditional Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C), and Medicare Prescription drug plans (Part D). Medicare open enrollment period begins Oct. 15-Dec. 7. This is the only time to review, change or add Part D or Part C plans. Benefits begin Jan. 1, 2020.
