F.H. “Jack” Schneider
F. H. “Jack” Schneider, 87, retired school teacher and farmer, of Lockhart, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, after a brief illness.
Jack was born on June 16, 1925, to Fritz and Pauline Schneider inLockhart,Texas. He graduated fromLockhartHigh Schooland Texas A&M, after serving in the Marine Corps in World War II. He taught vocational agriculture, chemistry, physics and di
stributive education for over 30 years inYorktownand Lockhart, until he retired to the farm in 1983.
In July, 1948, he met Edith Kathleen Hinsey, of Yorktown, when he went there to teach vocational agriculture atYorktownHigh School. They were married five months later on Dec. 26, 1948, atSt. Paul’sLutheranChurchinYorktown.
They were married for 62 years when Edie died. He was an active member ofSt. Paul’sUnitedChurchin Lockhart until his death.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Schneider; by his son, Paul H.
Schneider; and his sister, Colleen Guess.
He is survived by son Chris Schneider and wife, Tricia, of Lockhart; daughter, Jackie Westmoreland and husband, Brad, of Lockhart, grandchildren, Ben Schneider and wife, Maegan, of Leander, Kristen Schneider and husband, Dr. Jason Wang, of Atlanta, Ga., B. J. Westmoreland and wife, Erin, of Lockhart, Laura Schneider, of Longview, and Katie Mills and husband, Toby, of Austin. He is also survived by his great-grandsons, Kaiden and Kase Schneider, of Leander, and Jack Westmoreland, of Lockhart.
Visitation was scheduled at Eeds Funeral Home in Lockhart on Wednesday, Dec. 26 from 6 – 7 p.m. Services were planned atSt. Paul’sUnitedChurchin Lockhart on Thursday, Dec. 27 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Carlson Jakubik officiating. Burial will follow atLockhartCityCemetery.
Pallbearers are Ben Schneider, B.J. Westmoreland, Jason Wang, Toby Mills, Carl Ohlendorf and Ronald Hohertz. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Rector, Roland Cruz and Jake Hohertz.
