An early-morning accident on Thursday, Oct. 1 left two dead and two families reeling.
According to Sgt. Darrell Jirrall of the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Highway Patrol division, both drivers, who collided head-on on Highway 183 near the intersection of FM 1185 north of Lockhart, died at the scene as the resu

Witnesses to the crash said a Nissan Pathfinder driven by Bobby White, 20, of Luling, was headed southbound on Highway 183 when it began to drift into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with an Acura sport-utility crossover vehicle driven by Alison Berry, 31, of San Antonio.
The accident caused commuter traffic headaches for several hours as DPS investigators investigated the scene.
Funeral services for White, who family members said was a regular young man who enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends, barbecuing and playing basketball, were held in Luling on Monday.
Services for Berry were held in Lockhart on Tuesday. Her family asked that in her memory, friends and supporters get involved with Colin’s Hope, a non-profit organization which offers education and information to help prevent childhood drowning.
