The remodel of Fire Station No. 1 is continuing to gain momentum, with several major milestones checked off as the year winds down.

Crews recently wrapped up the roof abatement, completing the job by December 12th. With that out of the way, progress inside the building has picked up. On the first floor, the ceiling is now fully sheet rocked, and work on the second-floor walls is well underway.

Upstairs, things are really taking shape. HVAC and plumbing rough ins have begun, and the wall framing is about 98% complete. Insulation is also being installed throughout the second-floor walls and ceiling, giving the space a much more finished feel.

In safety upgrades, the fire department has issued permits for the new fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems. Crews are set to begin installing the sprinkler system on December 15th, marking another key step in the transformation.

As it stands, the project remains on track for a Spring or Summer 2026 completion. There’s still plenty of work ahead, but Fire Station No. 1 is steadily moving toward its future as a modernized, more efficient home for local firefighters.
