Four Dale residents arrested in drug bust
Sheriff Daniel C. Law announced the Caldwell County Sheriff”s Office and several other law enforcement agencies recently served a search and arrest warrant on a residence in the 2300 block of Tumbleweed Trail, in the Dale area.
Deputies assigned to the Chisholm Trail Special Crimes Unit had been conducting a three month investigation of possible criminal activity at th
e residence. In addition to surveillance of the area, patrol units made several arrests and seizures of controlled substances during traffic stops in the area.
On Tuesday, March 6 at about 6:45 a.m., the Chisholm Trail Special Crimes Unit, Department of Public Safety SWAT, Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Combined Sheriff”s Auto Theft Task Force, and sheriff”s deputies made entry onto the property to serve the search and arrest warrant.
Officers recovered a substantial amount of suspected cocaine, two stolen handguns, a rifle, and $814 in U.S. currency. Some of the recovered property has been identified as stolen property from several local burglaries.
Four suspects, two males, ages 48 and 54, and two females, ages 17 and 30, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance: over four grams but under 200 grams, a second degree felony. The two women had bond set at $20,000 each, while one of the male suspects has a bond amount of $3,000.
Federal agents with ATF took possession of the weapons and filed federal charges against the other male suspect for possession of a firearm while under an indictment. He remains in Federal custody.
