Freshmen Lions defeat La Grange Leopards 20-0

The Freshmen Lions played well during the first half of the game and led the La Grange Leopards 7-0 by the end of the first. The Lions maintained their lead until the final 20-0 score at Lion Field on Thursday, Aug.28.
At 5:45 p.m. the game was delayed briefly because of distant lightning strikes to the west of the field bef
ore the second half started. Players and coaches made their way to the athletic building for shelter.
Drake Hinojosa and Ryan Reed effectively shut down La Grange led Lockhart’s defensive team. The offensive team scored 20 points, all of which were contributed by D’Javonte Hedspeth.
Overall, the coaches were pleased with the results of the season opener.
“We are extremely proud of our players,” assistant coach Jose Falcon said. “Not only regarding their victory, but also their display of teamwork and sportsmanship. Please come and show your support for the Freshmen Lockhart Lions.”
The Freshmen Lions play at Gonzales on Thursday, Sept. 4. Game starts at 7 p.m.
