H.T. Wright
H.T. Wright, Jr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010.
Born on March 15, 1926, in Lytton Springs to Nancy (Strawn) and H.T. Wright, H.T. was married to Betty Joyce (Shomette), from Lockhart, on Aug. 15, 1947.
H.T. graduated from Luling High School and was a Texas A&M class of 1947 graduate. He served in World
War II as a Marine from June 20, 1944 to Aug. 24, 1946.
After a 38-year career with Exxon, ending in Houston, Texas, H.T. retired and he and Joyce returned to Lockhart. He was elected as County Judge of Caldwell County and was in his 12th and final year of his third elected term. As county Judge, he served on many various state and county boards.
He is survived by his wife Betty Joyce; their three sons, Terry (Peggy), Kerry (Cyndy) and Mark (Debbie); and 12 grandchildren.
The family received callers at Eeds Funeral Home from 6:30 – 8 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Lockhart, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers were: Hans Wright, Christopher Wright, Phillip Wright, John Wright, Randy Seidenberger and Terry Seidenberger. Interment followed at the Lytton Springs Cemetery, Lytton Springs, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations to Emmanuel Episcopal Church or Reading is Fundamental (RIF) Program.
