Hawks prey upon Lions
The Lockhart Lion varsity football team traveled to Hendrickson High School on Friday, Oct. 28, for a match up against the Hawks.
It was a disappointing night for the Lions as they led, 24-21, at the end of the third quarter, but allowed the Hawks to score 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to lose the game, 42-24.
Scoring for the Lions was Kerry Lampkin
on a 4-yard run, Casey Butler on a 2-yard run, Dwin Roland on a 4-yard run, and David Moore with a 36-yard field goal and two extra-point goals.
The defeat gives the Lions an overall record of 3-5 and a district record of 1-3.
The Lions will host the Del Valle Cardinals for their last game of the season on Friday, Nov. 4, at the Lion Stadium. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
The Cardinals have a 1-3 district record and a 1-8 overall record. The have used a running game against their past opponents.
Del Valle quarterback Ronald Reed has proven his speed as he scored nine rushing touchdowns and only two passing touchdowns.
