Ila Bowen Allison
Ila Bowen Allison, 75, of Austin, passed away on Sept. 5, 2009. She was born on Dec. 7, 1933, to George and Ola Bowen in Lockhart.
Ila assisted her husband, Johnny, as a co-owner of their office supply business for a number of years. She was a beloved and treasured wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, and a loyal friend who dotingly enjoyed garden
ing in her greenhouse. She tended and cared for her plants, showing the greenest of thumbs.
Ila is preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Terry Lynn and Donald Duane.
Ila is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Johnny; daughter, Sue Allison; granddaughter Lezlie Hello Krenz and husband, Tom; her great-grandchildren: Thomas McCade and Kallie Sue; brother, George Bowen and wife, Johnnie; and numerous special family members and friends.
The family received friends at Cook-Walden Funeral Home from 6 – 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009. Funeral services were planned at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at the Mausoleum Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, with interment following at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
