Letters – City should trade water revenue for tax increase

To the Editor:

I live an own property in Lockhart and I think if the city is going to profit off the water revenues from the Texas 130 project, when they will be using hundreds of millions of gallons of water to complete their project, then I think they should suspend trying to increase our property taxes with their vote in September.

In these economic times y

ou would think that the councilmen and commissioners would have more respect for the taxpayers than trying to increase our taxes at this time.

This is not Washington.

Thank you.
