Chavela Ramirez, 90, of Lockhart, passed away on Sunday Jan. 6, 2008. She was born Aug. 5, 1917 in McMahan.
Chavela was proceeded in death by her husband Polo Ramirez, and her beloved daughter Jesusa Ramirez.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Cruz (Esteban) and Benita Gonzales (Victor); sons, Saturnino Ramirez (Mariann), Felipe Ramirez (Charlotte), Lorenzo R

amirez (Margaret) and Cayetano Ramirez (Joann). She is also survived by 32 grandchildren,64 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Chavela was a joy to be around; she had spunk and a lively spirit. She will be missed dearly by her family, her dear friends, and her new friends from Chisolm Trail Nursing Home. We will all remember her dressed from top to bottom, from a matching hat to matching shoes.
Recitation of the Rosary was at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at DeLeon Funeral Home. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008 at St. Mary”s Catholic Church, with burial following in the Hispanic Clarks Chapel Cemetery in McMahan.
Honored to serve as pallbearers were Raymond Cruz, Lino Cruz, Esteban Cruz, Simon Cruz, Thomas Cruz and Joe N. Fuentes.
