Jesse Salas

Mr. Jesse Salas, 80, of Luling, died Saturday, June 25, 2011.  He was born on Nov. 20, 1930.

Mr. Salas was preceded in death by his parents, Policar and Juan Salas, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Salas, of Luling; daughters, Jo Ann Wendel, of Luling, and Elvira Vera Ysaguirre, of Lockhart; sons, Raymond Rios, of Redwood, Jesse Salas, Jr., of Austin, and Rudy Salas

, Samuel Salas and Riley Salas, all of Luling; a sister, Manuela Salas;; brother, Antonio Salas; 18 grandchildren and eigh great-grandchildren.

Recitation of the rosary was at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at the DeLeon Funeral Home. Funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Cleo Salas, David Salas, Lucas Salas, Jr., Mark Salas, Danny Salas and Tony Salas.
