Joe Lee Woodworth

Joe Lee Woodworth of Dale, born Sept. 4, 1935, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at age 80.

A loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, he was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lena; his brother, Art; his sister, Elanora; his daughter, Betty Jo; and his grandson, Joe III.

He is survived by his wife of 5

6 years, Loma; his brothers, Jackie and Jerry; daughters: Rhonda, Sheryl, Merle and Michelle; sons: Eugene, Joe II, William, Dan, and Jim; 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, in-laws, and extended family.

Joe loved working with his hands. Whether it was working the land, tending his animals, or caring for his ever-growing family, Joe”s kind and nurturing ways encouraged and inspired all to grow and thrive. His love and devotion to his family will always be remembered and will always be missed.

Family received friends at McCurdy Funeral Home from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015. Graveside services were held at 1p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at Upper Cedar Creek in Cedar Creek, Texas.
