John Peter Hook, II

John Peter Hook II, 81, passed away peacefully at his residence in San Antonio, Texas on Aug. 23, 2007. He was born in Lockhart on Nov. 21, 1925, to Arthur David and Melinda Salge Hook.
John attended Lockhart High School during his teen years. Later he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1944 and served honorably for a four-year term. He worked for the Ford Motor

Company for 54 years before his retirement. John is survived by his daughters: Kelley Grubb, Rebecca Jane Lombard, Jennifer Elaine Wood of San Antonio and Johnnie Malinda Forshage of Denver Colo.; sister, Helen and her husband Calvin Cowan of San Marcos, Texas; nephews: Ricky Cowan of Buda, Jody Cowan of Lockhart, and David Foryszewski of Lubbock; and niece Linda Foryszewski; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Melinda Salge Hook and Arthur David Hook.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Eeds Funeral Home Chapel with his family and friends in attendance.
