Jose C. Castillo
Jose C. Castillo Jr., 66, passed away peacefully at his home in San Marcos, Texas July 5, 2011. Jose was born in Martindale, Texas, on April 9, 1945, to Jose C. and Eudelia Mendoza Castillo.
Jose was a retired postal employee from San Antonio, Texas. He was also a Vietnam veteran with many commendations, such as National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam
Campaign Medal, and two Overseas Service Bars for use of Rifle M-14.
Mr. Castillo was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Castillo, Sr., and Eudelia Castillo; son, Jacob Castillo; and brothers, Ruben Selestino, Natalio Castillo and Felipe Castillo.
Jose is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Ynclan; sons, Joseph Castillo and his wife, Claudia, Jonas Castillo and his wife, Cathy, and Joel Castillo and his wife, Dolores; daughter, April Hernandez and her husband, Ralph; sisters: Elena Rodriquez and husband, Paul, Magdalena Nava, Antonia Reyes and her husband, Otoniel, Maria de Jesus Rodriquez and her husband, Narciso, and Rosa Juarez; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation and Rosary was held at Palm Heights Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas, on Thursday, July 7, 2011. A visitation and Rosary was held at Eeds Funeral Home on July 8, 2011, with El Grupo del Rosario. The Mass of Celebration was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lockhart, Texas, on July 9, 2011, with Father Alberto Borruel officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Serving as the pallbearers were Ralph Hernandez, Jason Fernandez, Raul Villalobos, Gilbert Garcia, Rudy Martinez and Jessie Perez.
