Jane Roberson Olesky went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 7, 2011, after a courageous three-year battle with breast cancer. Jane passed away at St. David’s South Austin Hospital. She was born in Plainview, Texas, on Nov. 9, 1951. She was married to John P. Olesky on Feb. 14, 1973. They resided on their farm near Niederwald.

gh School in Austin and from Austin Cosmetology School. She was a hairdresser until her first son was born. Jane devoted her life to her family and friends. She was always involved with her children’s school and social activities, serving in many capacities, such as room mother for all three children’s classes as well as president of the PTO.

She was instrumental in publishing a Lockhart School cookbook and was very involved with the Lockhart High Cheerleaders when her daughter was the Lion Mascot.

She enjoyed all aspects of cooking and was an outstanding artist.Her family and friends have many landscape and still-life paintings to cherish that she blessed them with over the years. She also enjoyed card games with family and friends and with many online friends she met over the years.

Along with her husband of 38 years, Jane is survived by two sons, John Darrell and wife, Jennifer, of Conroe, and Jeffrey Scott, of Fort Worth, and a daughter, Jennifer Kay, of Niederwald and her fiance, Timothy Moore, of Luling. Also left to cherish her memory are Jane’s parents, James and Johnnie Roberson; a sister, Janis Clingingsmith and husband, Tom; and a nephew, Chris Sanso and wife, Rosa, all of Austin.

Visitation with the family was held on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, from 6 – 8 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home. Interment followed to Lytton Springs Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were David Roberson, Jim Roberson, Eric Roberson, Carlan Cooper, Ronnie Cooper and Jamie O’Sorio.

Jane will be missed by her family and friends.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at St. David’s South Austin Hospital and Texas Oncology for their years of dedicated service to Jane.
