Alvina Kathryn Lehmann Borchert was born on Aug. 22, 1917, in Kyle, Texas. She passed away on Feb. 2, 2011, at Deer Creek Nursing Home in Wimberley, Texas. Alvina was born to Ernest Carl and Amelia Caroline Krueger Lehmann.

She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver and friend to many.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Berth

old Carl Borchert; her sister, Hedwig Marie “Hattie” Nickel; and her brother, Gilbert William Lehmann.

Alvina is survived by her three children: Daniel Lee Borchert, of Luling and Palacios, Texas, Kathryn Marie Borchert Niebauer and her husband, Donald Eugene Niebauer, of Wimberley, and Gary Lynn Borchert, of Kyle; ten grandchildren: James Daniel “Jim” Borchert and wife, Pamela Denise “Pam” Cheatham Borchert, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Shari Kay Niebauer Foster and husband, Douglas Brian Foster, of Lockhart, Heath Hamilton Borchert and wife, Tammy Borchert, of Odessa, Joseph Borchert, of Luling, Darin Scott Niebauer, of Wimberley, Scotty Martin and wife, Donna Martin, of Luling, Leonard Martin and wife, Brenda Martin of Luling, Texas; Rusty Martin and wife, Amanda Martin, of Rosanky, Randy Martin and wife, Mannell Martin, of Luling, and Sylvia C. Kernen and husband, Hans Kernen, and their son, Jarrett Kernen, of Rockport; 12 great-grandchildren: James Daniel Borchert, II, of Mississippi, Payton Randall Borchert, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Alyssa Faith Borchert, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Stefanie Nicole Foster, of Austin, Megan Elizabeth Foster, of Kyle, Clayne Borchert, of Seguin, Cheyenne Borchert, of Inez, Coby Dawson Borchert, of Inez, Carlyssa D’Ann Borchert, of Inez, Wyatt Carl Borchert, of Odessa, and Jessica Billings, of Luling; and sister-in-law, Vernie Lehman, of East Bernard; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation and celebration of Alvina’s life was held on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at McCurdy Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Lockhart City Cemetery.
