Jose Jimenez
Jose “Joe” Jimenez passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at the age of 91. He was born on March 26, 1918, in Lockhart, to the late Antonio and Maria Jimenez. He proudly served his country as an Army soldier during World War II. He then returned back to Lockhart and worked at First United Methodist Church for nearly 30 years.
Joe was always known to hav
e a mischievous smile and a witty sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maria Jimenez; three brothers, Julio, Antonio and Pedro Jimenez; and sisters, Angelita Mayo and Frances Jimenez.
Joe was blessed by many survivors who include his sister, Elena Jimenez, of Raymondville, Texas, and many nieces and nephews hailing from California, Chicago, Lockhart and throughout Texas.
A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart. The Holy Mass for Mr. Jimenez was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lockhart. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Lockhart.
