Lady Lion softball kicks off new season
The Lockhart Lady Lion softball program is kicking off a new season with a victory against the Luling Lady Eagles for a Valentine”s Day match up.
The Lady Lions sent the Lady Eagles home with defeats in the varsity game and junior varsity game.
In the varsity game, Lockhart won, 20-9, after three and a half innings of play.

re Alyssa Gonzales with two doubles and a RBI; Bobbi Schulle with a triple, double and RBI; Noelle Marquina with a single and a RBI; Shelly Castro with a triple and two RBIs; Brittany Naumann with a RBI; Janie Juarez with a single, double, and two RBI; Zaida Hager with a double; Chelsy Martinez with a double; Brianna Deleon with two RBIs; and Adrianna Parra with a single.
In the junior varsity game, the Lady Lions shut out Luling, 12-0, after three innings of play.
Making hits for Lockhart were Erica Griffiths with a single; Annette Mcelroy-Ramirez with a single; Jaimie Ruiz with a double; Shelly Castro with a single; and Chelsy Martinez with a single.
The Lady Lions” varsity team will travel to Gonzales for a tournament this weekend, Feb. 24-25. The next home game will be against Marble Falls on Tuesday, Feb. 28, with games starting at 5 and 7 p.m.
