Lady Lion X-C travels to Arkansas

Traveling 560 miles to Fayetteville, Arkansas this past weekend, the Lady Lion Cross Country harriers squared off against several of the finest squads across six states.
Facing a field of 250 runners with representatives from 50 different schools, very warm racing conditions, and a long 3.1 mile race course, our determined girls squad ran very competitively in the Invi

tational division.
The Lady Lions placed 11th as a team Saturday, Oct. 22, as Senior Tami Warner returned to the top spot for the girls” with her 45th place finish in 21:11. Sophomore Livi Massey was 58th overall in 21:36, and freshman Alyson Gonzales raced right on Massey”s heels with a 61st place finish in 21:37. Sophomore Alyson Daily was the next spot in 85th place, and freshman Jannah Platt was 86th to round out the top five. Senior Courtney Lee and sophomore Naomi Oliva ran very competitively as well, with Lee turning a personal best 22-plus minute finish.
In the open division senior Ashlyn Spring ran a personal best 23:02 and freshman Tera Alford also ran a personal best in 23:22.
The Lady Lions next race will take place on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the 26-4A District Meet at Lockhart City Park as the girls” look to reclaim the district championship.
