Loc
khart vs. Gonzales
“The girls are still struggling to find their team identity,” Head Volleyball Coach Jamye Pauley said. “It shows in our inconsistent play. We had girls step up, but not all at once and not all the time.”
Jamie Schulle made 19 assists in the game against Gonzales while Ashley Moore led the team in kills with 13. Chelsy Martinez made the only two aces in the game and Isis Johnson made two blocks. Shelby Henrichs contributed to the team with 15 digs.
“We did great things, just not enough,” Pauley said. “Gabby Galvan and Isis Johnson were tough at the net and Ashley Moore stepped up to lead our team on the offense.”
Lockhart vs. Jefferson
“San Antonio Jefferson was an extremely scrappy team,” Pauley said. “They refused to give up. We had a rough time putting the ball away because it seemed like they were always there to pick it up. We tried time and time again, but came up short.”
Henrichs worked hard for all 18 of her digs while Tori Hill made 12 assists and Schulle made 10. Meredith Moore had nine kills in the game and Galvan made four blocks. Aces came from Heather Domel and Martinez. Martinez served three and Domel served two.
“Meredith Moore has really stepped up lately,” Pauley said. She is taking the senior leadership role. The girls really look to her for encouragement and perseverance no matter what.”
