To the Editor:

LION PRIDE.

Those of us who have been a part of the Lockhart community have heard that many times and understand what it means.

I must say, the last month we have truly seen the meaning of LOCKHART LION PRIDE! Rob Ortiz and JR Krcmar worked like madmen making this thing [the Lockhart vs. Bastrop Alumni Football Game] happen, all the alums that gave up we

ekends to represent LHS, and the community one more time has been amazing!

All the while, we have had townsfolk out to watch our workouts with nothing but encouraging words.

Saturday night was incredible! While we came out on the short end of the scoreboard to look up in the stands and see the huge following we had from Lockhart truly explained LOCKHART LION PRIDE! Even when it became evident we would not win, our crowd was still loud and shouting encouragement.

As a “senior member” of the Lockhart Lion Alumni team I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who went on this ride with us. I told my teammates I loved going to battle with them; we, in return, were so proud to represent the City of Lockhart and all the Lion fans as they embraced what we did.

We look forward to doing this again knowing our town supports us through it all.

Respectfully,

Rodney Rodriguez (#42)
