Letters – Survivor praises EMS
To the Editor:
Thanksgiving day is a time for family and friends and loved ones to gather and be grateful for our many blessings.
While the city slept with content stomachs and happy hearts two very dedicated EMS men, Steve Garcia and Daniel Murphy responded to my 9-1-1 call for help about 5 a.m. on Nov. 28 with severe chest pain. They arrived so quickly an
d began their life saving training and expertise on me.
I was closer to death than to life, and they quickly got me to the hospital in Austin. They told me I could die for my left coronary artery to my heart was 99 percent blocked also known as the “Widow Maker.”
Because they were so efficient physically and mentally, I am able to write this letter of praise.
So, I do hope that Lockhart remembers these dedicated men and women in their prayers while they are doing their chores or warm and cozy with their families, for one never knows when the devil will pop up. Please remember them and thank them when you see them on the street or in your stores. Lockhart and all its people are very fortunate to have such a wonderful EMS team of highly trained and highly responsive Angels.
Remember they are there for you so be there for them too.
Thanks again Steve and Daniel for giving
me life and hope and may God Bless you with health. Each life you save is another feather in your wings. Lockhart is very blessed to have each and every one of you and your talents.
Sincerely With Love,
Paula S. Simmons
