Lion baseball earns All-District

The Lockhart Lion varsity baseball team was well represented in the 2006 All-District Selection for the 26-4A District with seven athletes making the cut.
Michael Wright received high honors named the District Most Valuable Player.
Making First Team All-District was Steve Gonzales with First Team All-District Outfielde

r, Michael Schulle with First Team All-District Pitcher, and Chris Hodges received First Team All-District Designated Hitter.
Earning second team placement was Dennis Ortiz with Second Team All-District Catcher.
Honorable Mention went to Josh Hazelett for first baseman and Aaron Torres for third baseman.
In district, Lockhart competed against Taylor H.S., Elgin H.S., Vista Ridge H.S., Hendrickson H.S., Connally H.S., and Del Valle H.S.
The Lions were led by Head Coach Richard Vasquez, Assistant Coach Gifford Whitehead, Assistant Coach Brandon Durst, and Assistant Coach Mark Elder.
