The Lockhart Lions boys’ soccer team battled through a tough night and came away with a 3–2 win over the Glenn Grizzlies from Leander, using balanced scoring and a clutch save late to seal the result. The victory moves Lockhart to 25–26 on the season.
Lockhart got goals from JC Garcia, Jose Vazquez, and Christian Branch, with Branch’s finish standing up as the game-winner. The Lions spread the offense around well, keeping Glenn’s defense guessing and capitalizing on their chances when they came.
Evan Estrada and Martin Cruz each picked up assists as Lockhart totaled eight points on the night. Garcia, Vazquez, and Branch all finished with two points apiece, showing just how evenly the Lions’ attack was working from start to finish.
The difference came in goal, where senior B. Perales delivered the biggest moment of the match. Perales turned away two shots and came up with a huge penalty kick save that stopped Glenn’s momentum and preserved Lockhart’s lead down the stretch.
The match was physical at times, with Jesus Garcia drawing a yellow card, but the Lions stayed composed and closed things out in the final minutes.
With contributions across the lineup and a big performance in net, Lockhart showed strength and poise in holding off Glenn, earning a hard-fought win as the season continues.
