Lockhart electricians Clayton and Clint Headley of Headley Brothers LLC recently donated their time to support a scouting project at McKinney Falls State Park.

The project is a “Call a Park Ranger Box,” which was installed in the park and will allow park visitors to connect instantly with park rangers while visiting McKinney Falls State Park’s trail system.

Austin Girl Scout Renee Lofye created the project as her Gold Award project.

The Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn. Lofye is a member of Girl Scouts of Central Texas Troop 2176 and graduated in May from Westlake High School.

The Park Ranger call box will be powered by solar panels also installed by Clayton and Clint Headley. Cell service for the call box is provided by AT&T.

AT&T is providing the cell service at no charge for the first year.

“The donation of the Headley Brothers’ time made this project a reality,” Lofye said. “Their generous donation and commitment to scouting are greatly appreciated.”
