Lolita Roberson
On April 22, 2015, Maggie Lolita Roberson, RN, 81, went to be with our Heavenly Father as an angel in His kingdom. Lolita (her preferred name) was born Aug. 4, 1933, the eldest child of Mable Lolita Gant and Rigdon Nephi Gant. She married Charles Edward Roberson and became a mother to four children.
Lolita grew up in a different era when opportunities for women were limited, e
specially poor women. She worked hard all of her life, finding professional success in nursing. As a grandmother, she finished first in her class in the Licensed Vocational Nursing program. Not satisfied, she became a Registered Nurse in the twilight of her career. She loved nursing and inspired several family members to that career. She was a kind and compassionate nurse who was loved and respected by the patients she cared for over the years.
Lolita loved life and lived it to the fullest; she enjoyed traveling, fishing, shopping, painting, crocheting, reading, puzzles, bingo, animals and Sandy’s Ice Cream. Lolita loved to sparkle and collected jewelry unlike any other. She was the epitome of style; rising each morning to don her favorite outfit, complete with make-up and hair. Ever the nurse and social butterfly, she spent her final months at Stonebriar Nursing and Rehabilitation visiting her resident friends and ensuring their care.
Lolita was welcomed in Heaven by her mother and father; husband, Charles; son, Bobby; brother, George Gant; and sisters, Lillian Morgan and Joyce Ross.
She leaves behind her son, Larry Roberson and his wife, Emma; daughters, Peggy Holder and her husband, Jess, and Sherry Mueller and her husband, Randy, sister, Cynthia Laurie; brothers, Charles and John Ross; sisters-in-law, Eileen Gant and Barbara Bean; and brother-in-law James Morgan. She also leaves her grandchildren: Emily Crimmons, Derek James, Dodd Brooks, Bobby Holder, Terry Holder, Chris Mueller and Dawn Mueller; and great-grandchildren: Christopher Holder, Christian Mueller, Daniel Crimmons and Nathaniel Crimmons. She also leave behind many nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.
