Lyndon Marvin Hooper, 68, passed away peacefully in Prairie Lea, Texas, on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, with his family and friends at his side. Marvin was born in Tackerville, Okla., on May 30, 1940, to Lyndon Merle and Leo Cleo Brewer Hooper.

Lyndon had worked most of his life running heavy equipment for various construction companies. He served in the Army during the Vi

etnam era. Lyndon was a Baptist and a member of the Prairie Lea Baptist Church.

Lyndon is survived by his children: Stephanie Jill Marshall and her husband, David, Kemberley Annell Hooper, and Kevin Lyn Hooper and his wife, Gretchen; sister, Sherry Maxine Pool and brother-in-law, John; grandchildren: Amber Nell Roberts, Kevin Lance Marshall and Clinton Ryan Hooper; nieces and nephews, Rocky Lee Chestnut and wife, Carrie, Rodney Max Messenger, Carla J. Messenger and Robbie Messenger.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at the Prairie Lea Baptist Church in Prairie Lea, Texas, with Pastor Joel Densman officiating. Serving as the pallbearers were: Mike Myers, Adam Alcala, John Pool, Bud Sanderfer, David Collier and Tim Nation. Burial followed at the Fentress Cemetery, Fentress, Texas.
