Malinda Homann Petrosky, 85, of Mendoza, Texas, joined her Lord on Jan. 19, 2010. Malinda was born on March 21, 1924, in Mendoza to Gus and Frieda Band Homann. Raised on the family farm, she was no stranger to hard work. She attended Mendoza School and was competitive in basketball, volleyball, and baseball. She loved to dance and is dancing with the angels in Heaven.

p>On June 21, 1941, she married Lewis Petrosky in the First American Lutheran Church in San Marcos and moved to Georgetown, Texas, where she lived for 38 years while raising her family. She was a devoted wife and mother who demonstrated unconditional love for God, her family, and friends every day of her life.

Malinda operated Petrosky”s Day Care where her career as a “grandmother” to hundreds of children flourished for 25 years. Affectionately known by the children as “Ms. Trosky,” she provided a nurturing environment with her simple childrearing philosophy… listen to them, talk with them, and love them.

In 1979, Malinda and her husband returned to her family farm in Mendoza. She loved to cook in a kitchen spiced with love and to work in the garden. A favorite pastime was watching football, basketball and baseball games (especially the Spurs and Astros) with her husband.

She was a joy in the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be remembered by her husband as a loving wife, by her children as a caring mother, and by all who knew her as a gentle soul filled with love. She was member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW and of the Trinity United Church and Women”s Guild in Niederwald, Texas.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lewis Petrosky; brothers, Henry, Gus and Fritz Homann, and sister, Minnie Petrosky, all of Lockhart; sons, Jim Petrosky (Gee), of Wichita, Kan., and Carroll Petrosky (Mary), of Seguin; daughters, Carolyn Marlatt, of Temple, and Linda Simonson, of Georgetown; grandchildren, Janie Adams (Nick), Charlotte Buchanan (Mike) and Beckie Avery (Mike), all of Wichita, Terri Marlatt, of Temple, Joe Bob Marlatt, of Mendoza, Kathy Smith, of Cedar Park, Amanda Petrosky, of Denton, Christopher Petrosky (Bonnie), of Houston, Emily Petrosky (Jim), of Lindsborg, Kan., and Melissa Revier (Scott), of Plano, Texas; and great-grandchildren: Reed, Lindsay, Scott and Abby Adams, Carson, Suzanne and Josh Avery, Sheridan Smith, and Tanner Conroy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Frieda Homann; brothers, Emil, Ernest, Max and Edwin Homann and sister, Frieda Shirley.
