Martin Swayze
Martin Swayze, age 73, of Lockhart, passed away on July 14, 2005. He was born Nov. 30, 1931 in Elgin, Texas.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Inez Woods Swayze; sister Gladyene Inman and brother Emmett Abner Swayze.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sylvia Wilson Swayze; sons David Swayze and wife Linda of Lockhart and Allen Swayze of
McQueeney; brother Don Swayze and Kathy of Lago Vista; sisters Bennie Wright and husband Maxie of Longview, and Ann Campbell of Austin; grandsons Dustin Swayze of Lockhart, Joseph Reyes of McAllen, and Chris and David Reyes of Seguin; numerous nieces and nephews; loving family and friends.
Martin was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a great lover of books.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Kornegay, Lennie Snyder, Dustin Swayze, Charles Wilson, Billy Brown and Gary Koehler. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Koehler, Leonard Snyder and Jimmy Barton.
Visitation was held Saturday, July 16 from 6 – 7 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart. Services were Sunday, July 17 at 2 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home, with burial following in the Elgin Cemetery at 4 p.m.
