Melvin L. Reed
Melvin L. “Bulldog” Reed, 67, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Melynda Cheatham and husband Michael; daughter, Cynthia Reed of San Antonio; granddaughter, Brittany Cheatham and fiancé, Jesse Graham; grandson, Brandon Cheatham and Destiney Coleman; three-week old great-grandson, Brayden Cheatham; mother-in
-law, Louise Burditt; sister in-law and brother in-law Shirley and Buddy DuBoise; his faithful companion, Beau; and long-time special friends, Norma and Fred Blundell.
Melvin served as a member of the United States Army in Korea and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Disabled Veterans Association. He never met a stranger and always lived life to the fullest, enjoying visiting with his many loyal friends. Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, with Reverend Clint Browning officiating.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Peter Scholl and Dr. John Whitaker for their excellent care, and the First Lockhart Baptist Church Prayer Group for their prayers and support.
