Mildred Arno

Mildred “Millie” Thecle Arno, 89, of Lockhart, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. She was born to Melvin Cardonell and Louise (Lipps) Cardonell in Paterson, N.J., on July 25, 1924.

After her husband, Steve, died in 1982, she relocated to Texas to live with her daughter, Cathy Ramirez and husband, Larry.

r, Melvin Cardonell; mother, Louise (Lipps) Cardonell; brothers, Leroy, Bobby and Richard Cardonnel; sister, Ruthie Shaver; and son, Leonard Brooks.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy L. Ramirez and husband Larry, of Lockhart; son, Donald Brooks, of Jamestown, N.Y.; brothers Carlton “Bull” Cardonell, of Pequannock, N.J., and Albertis “Red” Cardonnel, of Brooksville, Fla., and sister, Barbara Lyons, of Deland, Fla.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Seton E.B. Davis Hospital, Luling, Texas, and a very special thank you to Ernestine Capello of Chisolm Trail Nursing Home for their special attention and care for Millie.
