Mr. Juan Juarez
Mr. Juan Juarez, 86, of Lockhart, Texas, passed away on Jan. 15, 2007. Mr. Juarez was born on Oct.19, 1920 to Eduardo Juarez and Guadalupe Rodriguez who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were brothers Cipriano, Roman and Timoteo Juarez, Sr.
Mr. Juarez served his country in World War II as a Telephone & Telegraph Linesman with the 34th Signal Const
ruction Battalion. Mr. Juarez served in military campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He received commendations and medallions for the following campaigns: the American Theater Campaign, European-African Campaign with Five Bronze Stars, the Asiatic – Pacific Campaign, the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Ribbon with One Service Stripe and Three Overseas Service Bars. Mr. Juarez was a member of St. Mary”s Catholic Church where he served as an usher for the Spanish Mass.
He is survived by brothers Meliton Juarez, Sr. and Alcario Juarez of Lockhart; sisters, Romalda Rodriguez of Lockhart and Eleanor Juarez of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary was Friday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m., at St. Mary”s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary”s Catholic Church, interment followed at St. Mary”s Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers: Amando Juarez, Blas Rodriguez, Peter Juarez, Pete Rodriguez, James Juarez and Carlos Juarez.
